Rymdraket (Swedish for Space Rocket) is a highly polished, physics enabled multiplayer shoot-em-up. Up to 6 players can shoot it out in 10 lovingly created maps with 3D rendered ship models, weapons and level structures.
Small details like fiery smoke coming from the engines when a ship loses hull points and the spacey soundtrack add to the fun gameplay. Until recently Rymdraket was sold, but it is available for free now.

The game consists of 3 modes: Dogfight (deathmatch), Teamfight and a violent Race mode. You can shove and ram your enemies, there's a base to fill up on hull and ammo, enemies explode satisfyingly. Steering clear of obstacles with the asteroid-like mouse control plus gravity may take a short while getting used to, but fortunately collision damage is adjustable in the game setup ("Coll dmg").

The shortcuts can all be changed in the Options menu.
C - Camera
X - Ship Direction
§ - Names on players
T - Talk with players

Rymdraket is still virtually unknown, so best bring a friend for multiplayer or connect right here in the thread.
A dedicated server.exe is included with the game (ports: TCP & UDP: 2300-2400, 30000, 47624).
Otherwise there's a good bot training mode with selectable numbers of bots and grades of difficulty.

I've talked a bit with O-San, the creator of Rymdraket and he put up a public server now. I'm also hosting a server, so all we need now are some people to shoot downplay with.

 

Tried your server and had a blast but some secondary weapons were a bit laggy due to ping times. If you live nearer the server it should be fine. 

Well that was great, and quite different to playing with bots. I learned a few useful shortcuts, that I added to the review above. And I died. A lot. I got a love for cold metal walls you see...
Anyway, I hope we can repeat that sometime.
