Hi I'm new to SS2 and I'm attempting to get the game going. I have tried the step provided in the FAQ however I'm receiving a error message requesting  the following "Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application."

Below are the steps I've followed. I also renamed the LGVID.AX to LGVID.AX.BAK.

Installation & Getting mod ready

Copied the "shock" folder from the CD to your computer. (Vista/Win7: Do not copy to Program Files.)
Installed the SS2Tool with all options checked.
Installed the SS2 Modmanager

Any suggestions? I've searched for the error message and didn't find anything.
The CD is in the drive.

You want to check this again. The SS2Tool provides a No CD fix, so you won't need the CD any more (glad you have it) and this error will not come up again.

EDIT: Oh dear. Just saw the picture. Well that's the installer. Who ever said "Start the installer"?
Just do what the SS2 Tech FAQ says and try not to think too much.

Ok I think I realized what I did wrong. After I copied the shock folder I ran the SS2Tools and is created an other folder "C:\games\sshock2"

From there I attempt to run the shock2.exe as admin and receive the following

Copy the "shock" folder from the CD. Then start SSS2Tool. When it asks you where you want to install, choose the "shock" folder you just copied over.

I believe that's exactly what I did. I copied the shock folder from the cd to my root "C:\SHOCK". From there I placed SS2Tools in C:\SHOCK. Ran the tool and selected all options and choose the following path "C:\sshock2". At this point I attempt to run C:\sshock2\SHOCK2.exe and receive the following:

Look, the SS2Tool is an installer, that will install bug fixes on your game. You can have it anywhere you like, doesn't matter.
When you start it you will get a bunch of options and you'll be able to choose where to install these bug fixes to. The path you give there has to be the "shock" game folder.
It's really quite simple.

Therein lies your problem. You have to install SS2Tool in your SS2 folder which, in this case, is C:\SHOCK.

The SS2Tool is in the SS2 folder "C:\SHOCK". When I said I choose C:\sshock2 I'm saying that is where the SS2Tool is dumping the files to. Which is where I'm running the shock2.exe from.

Here is where I have the folder copied from the CD to the hard drive. (C:\SHOCK) I then run SS2Tools.

After I'm done with running the SS2Tool, I have C:\Sshock2. I then run shock2.exe and receive the error message.

Figured out what I was doing wrong. I wasn't directing the installer (SS2Tools) to install to the same folder "C:\SHOCK".

Well I got the game up and running looks to be running strong. Installed SS2 Mod Manager activated the SHTUP mod and will be giving this game a try. I'm excited looks great!
