Need help with patch

I'm having trouble installing the patch for SS2. I can download it fine, but when I try to install it, I get a "Cannot locate instalation directory." message, indicating the game isn't correctly installed. That's besides the fact that I've already actually beaten the game. >.<

Any ideas how to fix this?

Are you sure your game isn't patched already? If you have a multiplayer menu it is.
If you don't have that menu option and it is a legal game a reinstallation (preferably to the default path) will fix the problem.

Yeah, it's not patched, I know I don't have a multiplayer option.

The Brain, that link you mentioned does describe the problem I have, but I'm still having trouble. It creates a nice little registration entry, and when I try to run it, it gives me the yes/no option, but when I click yes, it says that I can only import binary registry functions. How do I make it binary?

Add string "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" before those lines. Then it should work.

I'm trying to get the Rebirth mod to work, but when I move the mesh folder into the Shock2 folder and run it, several graphics don't show up, including the wrench, while in my hands. This makes it kinda difficult... no, actually impossible to hit anything. The same thing happened with an older version of the mod. How does that happen?
