I'd recommend the current EE version
you get the same code for the reactor each time, but consider it random.
If you use the latest version of SS2EE, then you can fix the jittery movement bug by running the game at a fixed 30 FPS, if you don't mind that frame-rate. I usually play EE when I play SS1. Though with the source port I find anytime I need to reinstall it I need to tweak the settings to get it feeling right cause the default ones are odd
