vanilla is fine.

You indicated it would be a problem to use version K with the soon to be deprecated beta 1.

Question: Would it also be a problem to use version K with a vanilla game, or would it not be a problem?

ETA: Since I sometimes play vanilla, I don't want to keep an old version hanging around unless I need it.

there is no reason to get the K release unless you have the second release of SCP.  the update will do nothing for vanilla and make one object look off with SCP beta1.

So the latest Flora mod would be the right one to use?

What if you are playing with no scp?
Posted by: voodoo47
« on: 29. October 2015, 20:08:34 »

a tiny update that makes sure the mod will play well with the upcoming SCP release. note that you shouldn't get it if you are using the soon to be deprecated beta1.

small UI tweaks are a SHTUP thing, so you can try asking ZylonBane for a fix. heh.

You devil

And here I thought that voodoo47 was a god??? :)

My initial thought was not to pursue this, even with a 12 meter pole, and to just walk away and live with it . . . . . but . . . . .
I'll chance it, for the betterment of SS2 . . . . .

So how about it ZylonBane, are you up to throwing some direct goodness my way, for a change? . . . Please.

Just create a new icon instead of this empty posturing.

yes, that icon is oversimplified, and does not correspond to any actual model, vanilla or updated. anyone who cares, raise your hand.

Sorry that I didn't report this earlier.

As a result of a possible recent fix/update to Vurt's floral overhaul mod, I noticed that the small plant's model isn't accurately depicted in the inventory table - the plant's 'pot' portion is missing http://i.imgur.com/xS8NecA.jpg

Using Vurt's SS2 Flora Overhaul mod v1.0g - And yes, I know that the mod's most recent version is 1.0j

updated the zip with a tall plant model that has a proper pot (the previous version had slight transparency issues).

Thanks for fixing it. Really strange that the chains werent in the latest version, clearly remember having them in my game, must have forgotten to add the latest mesh i guess.

nope, it's a rafflesia - a big, pretty flower at first sight, until you realize it's a parasite that smells like rotten flesh. so yeah, if life was a flower, rafflesia would do nicely.

small update - cleaned up some dml deficiencies. 71 users have managed to get the 1.0d version in the meantime, seems like everyone loves flowers.

will clean up the old versions after a couple of days, if no issues with 1.0e are reported.

« on: 09. July 2014, 09:42:55 »

1.0d is up, same as 1.0c, but with the chainless hanging plant model included, and rec2 dml that swaps it where necessary. old rec2 saves will not work.

everybody is recommended to update (those 19 who got 1.0c included).

I'll leave 'em there for a bit, I was putting the 1.0c version together on a horrible netbook that can't even do hw rendering in the editor mode, so the chance for screwups is higher.

also, slapping the fix onto the new pack will not cause any harm, so no problem.

As ZB says, reading is fun. I should do it more often. I was however confused with the OP, because the fix is indeed still there. Even if the updated files are uploaded.

Chains? Pfft, they're anti-gravity pots, held aloft by the power of science.

« on: 08. July 2014, 19:33:26 »

we will need a chainless version of the hanging plant as well though, rec2 will need this at some places.

[...] and the hanging plant now has a bunch of chains so it is not hanging in mid air anymore (say hello to Olfred).
Well, it came from the files vurt gave me. Either he planned to update it himself or it was causing some errors, we will see.
So no credit to me for the chains, just for fixing stuff up.

The hover plant was the most surreal element in SS2. :(
Posted by: voodoo47
« on: 08. July 2014, 15:52:57 »

new version attached to the first post - updating is highly recommended. dimensions and offsets have been fixed, and the hanging plant now has a bunch of chains so it is not hanging in mid air anymore (say hello to Olfred). all transparency issues should be fixed as well (the fix pack is not needed anymore).

while the 1.0c version should be superior to 1.0b in every way, it has received a bit less testing than comfortable, so leaving the old downloads online for now.

report all issues with 1.0c in this topic (note that some dmls have been added, so old medsci saves will not work properly).
Posted by: voodoo47
« on: 31. May 2014, 09:06:21 »

it's actually quite easy to do this via dmls, but it does not solve the underlying problem of the model not being a 1:1 replacement that anyone can install and use in any existing mission without breaking anything (in this case that would mean that while the visuals can be very different, the new model needs to have roughly the same dimensions when viewed ingame, and needs to behave identically to the orig model when floored or manipulated around). if the new model is not a 1:1 replacement, it's not really a ready to use mod, but more of a modder's resource.

added all info I have so far to the model fix topic.

« on: 31. May 2014, 00:28:43 »

What about using the current model only for hydro1 and creating a new model for all the other places based on this one?
Should be doable with the dml files. Just copy the original model into the SCP and rename it to a new name, then use that for hydro1. Then take the vurt model and rename it to be used for hydro1.
For all other places just keep the old filename.

So what's there for me to do is take a look at vurts model to get the performance issues out of the way and create a new model based on this one to fit all the other locations.
Just post the model name, ID and stuff over at the engineering board. Would also be nice if you could provide me with map names and location IDs so I can test it ingame.

And maybe everything else I should take a look at.

no - but the latest status update was "busy with modding other games". probably going to take a while.
