Hello,

I want to ask tips for editing BLUEAA.bmp, BOLDAA.bmp, DIMMED.bmp, KEYFONTA.bmp, MAINAA.bmp font bitmaps.
Cause when opened with Photoshop(using aafon.act): http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/7905/whitehv2.png
Without aafon.act: http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/664/blacksy7.png
And how you supposed to edit this? The characters are very unrecognizable..

Any tips and help appreciated...
Thanks.

Zaboleq, you changed your posts in this thread to make yourself look less clueless. This isn't a beauty contest.
I wasn't being aggressive, I tried to point you at the fact that you need to work and think yourself first.
Then ask questions on what your problems are. Say what you have done already to solve a problem. Copy error messages.
People will be a lot more helpful if they see you tried to solve problems yourself before asking.

Success !!   Thx for help

usage:
thieffon -c [-m|-a] [-s] [-f num] [-b num] [-p num] [-w num] image_file fon_file
thieffon -d [-b num] [-p num] [-w num] fon_file image_file [pal_file]

So, for example, you'd use ThiefFon.exe -d MainFont.fon MainFont.bmp to convert MainFont.fon to MainFont.bmp, and ThiefFon.exe -c NewMainFont.bmp NewMainFont.fon to convert NewMainFont.bmp to NewMainFont.fon.

If you can't come up with a more specific question I can't help you. Do you expect me to write a step by step guide for you? Maybe it's time to rethink whether you have the skills right now for what you plan to do. You should start reading a lot more and asking a lot less questions until you have gained some basic knowledge.

You'll need Telliamed's Thief Font Converter to modify SS2's .fon files, by converting them to/from .bmp format.

If I remember correctly fon files are basically bitmaps. Frankly I'd just leave them alone. The menu isn't that hard to understand in English. And translating all the textures and strings will be enough work. Once you have done that bulk work you might think about this detail again. Until then, good luck!  :)

Yeah, it's a really varied family. I had a heck of a time tracking down all the weights.

It's very similar to the Microgramma family, which I'd been using for the heavier weights until just recently.

Hey that's pretty useful for creating System Shock stuff. I only had 2 variants of this font family before.
