Subtitles or no subtitles?

Hello to everyone who sees this. So. I've been playing Thief Gold and Thief 2 for a while, and some time ago [as far as I have understood ] appeared a patch allowing in-game subtitles. Since then I've been seeking the same thing for SS2. Some say there is a possibility to get it, others say it's impossible. So, once and for all - is there any possibility to turn on in-game subtitles in SS2? The reason I am so curious: English is not my mother language so it's often difficult to clearly understand what the voices are saying. I'll be VERY grateful for all who reply

Yes, there is.
However, SSTool only enables the use of subtitles, you need to install a subtitle mod manually. Check the modifications board, we might even have subs in your first language.

We currently have subs for English, German, French and I think at least a partially working Italian version. Check the respective language threads in Engineering and Modifications.

You can use them like any other mod but they have to be supported first, for example with the SS2Tool.

The English subtitling is in an INCOMPLETE ALPHA state. It does not yet include any logs or emails.

Besides, logs and mails are already in text form in your MFD, so you could simply read them there.
