You can add this version to the modmanager just like an ss2mod file. Here's how.

If I go into the SS2MM file to search for the new Rebirth file, it doesn't show up, even though I put it in one folder named "ss2 mods" with all the other stuff I run on the game. I tried to change the file extension of the .zip file as well, but it doesn't seem to be working (which means I'm sure I am doing it wrong" Any help? I guess I don't think I am going about changing the zip file extension correctly

More than likely. Assuming you're running Windows, open Windows Explorer, click on the Tools menu (in Vista and 7, you may have to hit Alt to see the menus), select Folder Options, then uncheck the box labelled "Hide extensions for known file types." You should then be able to see and change the file's extension.

You, my friend, are THE MAN! Thanks alot! (if you are not a man, my apologies)

Glad you got it working. Nevertheless you could have added it without renaming.
You didn't see the mod in the Modmanager's Open-File dialogue, because you had the wrong filetype selected the bottom of the dialogue window.

I looked after reading this and don't see any place to select file types at the bottom of the dialogue window? Is this available in vers 1.10?

Yes, I'm a man. And you're welcome. :)

Yup. When you go to the File menu and click Add Mods, in the window that opens, click the drop-down box labelled "Files of type:" and you'll see that you can switch between .ss2mod, .zip, .7z and .rar files. I actually didn't know this myself until I just now checked; I've always just changed the file extension and double-clicked on it to add it.

I have amended the SS2 Tech FAQ with a screenshot explaining this.

If TheBrain reads this, it would be cool if SS2MM used a multi-filetype mask in the File->Open dialogue, showing all appropriate files at a time.

That would be highly welcome and would add some comfort to the manager :thumbwink:

Noticed and noted. However I'm planning to do total revamp of the manager with Lazarus IDE and Free Pascal so you can run new manager in both 64-bit and 32-bit Windows OSes natively.

Hey, how about a tag that could be added to the mod description file that specifies whether a particular mod should generate conflict warnings? That would be useful for SHTUP. No idea if it would be useful for anything else though.
Re: SS2 CyberBlutch Rebirth 02
665502247cd28
But conflict warnings only come up in combination with another mod, so how are you going to predict that in any single mod's description file? I must be missing something here.

Re: SS2 CyberBlutch Rebirth 02

Since SHTUP is a baseline upgrade to the existing content that doesn't actually "change" anything, it's always okay for other mods to overwrite it.

But like I said, SHTUP may be unique in this regard.

What if someone activates SHTUP after another mod?

Which files do I remove to disable the enormous-breasted female models without affecting any others? I can't seem to find a model viewer, so I can't simply go through them one by one. For that matter, are there any good female model sets that don't make them any bustier? Arcaniac's models are preferable to these, but the models are still a couple sizes bigger.

Funnily enough, the original Rebirth midwife scares me more than the original precisely because of this.

*awaits help and possibly some good-natured jabs at my aesthetic sense*

mixing the original and rebirth models is probably not going to yield pleasant results. if you don't like the rebith models, I suggest that you simply do not use the mod at all.

to answer you question, you will have to get rid of all textures and models with "F" in the middle, like corf_com.bin, corpfem1.bin, corf_com.gif etc (edit: from the rebirth pack. do not touch the original ss2 files).. the midwife file was fembot.bin, I think.

You do realise that this version of rebirth uses the original texture that covers up the breasts though? Just checking.

updated my post to avoid confusion-if he kills all the female data from the rebirth mod, he should get the result he wants.

wonder why he dislikes big boobs that much-thought everybody loves them (even girls)..

Kolya, he's talking about the dead crewmember models, not the midwife.
Voodoo47 has the right answer.  I agree that mixing the models will probably look horrible, though.  Especially if the male corpses are Rebirthified (with all the fancy pockets and all) and the female ones are the original low-poly blocks.

Not everybody. Genetic hardwiring and social influence are highly variable, you know!

Hmm, I think I'll probably mix and match a few Arcaniac models with Rebirth ones. Probably have to do that manually to avoid ADaOB conflicts and the like.
