I don't see why it shouldn't, but do note that anything above 640*480 will probably have a noticeable lag.

I've used SSP 1024x768 on Win7/64, it works fine.

I've run it in 1024x768 no problem. You'll want to adjust hmousemul and vmousemul in XCYB.CFG or else the mouse is likely to be super slow when you're not in mouselook mode, however. It will probably crash if you try to run in 1280x1024 mode, though. This is a known issue that the creators don't have a solution for - and probably isn't a high priority for them, because it already looks extremely crisp and smooth at 1024x768.

Curious, but what kind of rigs have you guys got? Those of you that can run 1024x768 smoothly, that is.

Unless you have a very old system, the hardware shouldn't be the issue. I'm on a year-and-a-half old laptop and it uses a small fraction of my available processing.

Specs would be nice
I made a thread earlier but the consensus was either the higher hacked resolutions work... or they don't. Helpful.
My laptop's from 2009, Core 2 Duo @ 2.4GHz with a Radeon 4330 @ 256MB VRAM and I can't run anything higher than 640x480 without noticeable lag.
Hardware is most certainly my issue, so I'm wondering if I'd just be better off installing Win98 or something on a partition and playing it through that way without DOSBox. Although I worry about the mod compatibility with that option. I wonder if the hacked resolutions will even work with DOS?
And I'll probably have a lot of driver issues. Anybody have any experience with installing ancient OSs on modern computers?
I do have a ton of old, crappy computers lying around in my basement I could use...

The biggest problem with old OS on new hardware is the lack of supported drivers.
Most companies only support down to windows xp, or for newer stuff down to vista.
So even if you have a good videa card, you can't use it's potential on an old OS

I get lag on anything higher than 640x480, even on that I get a slow framerate in some areas. I think kolya said dosbox relies mostly on the cpu for resources which sucks for me as my cpu is the bottleneck of my system right now. You should try an XP partition with a stripped down lite version, would probably work good. I'd do one but I'm too damn lazy.

I don't notice lag, but I played TWitcher 2 at about 20fps with no problems unless the frame rate dropped into single figures so I probably just don't notice lag much.
