System Shock 2 refuses to install on Windows 7

I've been trying to play System Shock 2 on Windows 7 for a while now, but every time I click install, it loads up to 100% but gives me the message "This product cannot be installed on Windows NT due to a Microsoft DirectX 6.1 limitation." I even tried installing the game on XP mode and installing the ss2 tool. Can anyone help?

You need to run the installer with the -lgntforce switch if you want to run it in Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7.  But you shouldn't be using the installer anyway.  Read the installation instructions in the FAQ for an easier way to install.
