...what are you doing with it? if you're using it.  i use stable diffusion webui (running locally).

what a wonderful tool for creativity :) can't remember the last time i had this much fun with a computer, probably when i got my amiga.. the future will be bright for any indie devs...

The human race is becoming so lazy I tell ya. Can't even be bothered to make their own art anymore.

You can be as creative or as lazy as you want, its just a tool.  Anyone can easily make a cool material in a 3D program too, fun to play around with for a beginner, but it won't exactly put a good 3D artist out of business. It's the same with the AI stuff, while a beginners effort with AI might look impressive to someone with little or no reference, its still pretty useless, just like doing a cool material render in a 3D program.. to do really good stuff it will take you effort.

I've done a model based of my old sci-fi wall/door textures (made in Filterforge, most of them). I never really used them for anything, just collected them over time, i used one or two for my SS2 mods. They're kind of bad on their own to be honest, just rather simplistic materials but can be good if worked on in photoshop.
So instead i used machinelearning on the 200 images and now i can tell it to generate sci-fi doors and walls. You could say lazy, i would say "more efficient", nice for massproducing then going through it all to chose the best outcomes of the generation.

very cool for upscaling and re-imagining for older games too.. making some updates for KOTOR, which has some pretty low res and shitty textures, here's a door, old to new

and yes it takes creative liberties, sometimes they're shit sometimes decent. this one i did edit a little bit in photoshop, the lights didn't line up correctly for example.

For indie devs machinelearning will be heaven sent.. the dev could easily produce all textures alone, even voices, and at no cost, it will take him time to get good though and to understand how to use it, but anyone can learn it.

This is did with only AI, music, images, voice:

I wonder if it would be possible to do for Red Faction. I don't think there are really any good texture packs for that
6647251b86134
of course, as long as textures can be unpacked and repacked.

it's one of those games i never played for some reason..

Can be done for any game. As long as there is texture files that can be swapped. Or if there is a way for the game to switch to higher textures or models.

Looks quite cool to be honest, retro yet high-quality and high-res. Would probably get these if they were on the unreal marketplace or something.

I'll probably release a pack or two as a modder's resource on Nexusmods.

The model is improving daily, throwing in new stuff and removing textures that gives inconsistent results.

what my model can do in a few seconds (i did misspell one of the prompts, i bet you can tell it apart from the others lol)

https://imgur.com/a/9borqvZ

still working on it daily. there's so much to learn and very few to learn from when it comes to making AI models.

also working on a KOTOR retexture mod... i got so pissed when i looked at the "upscaled" mods on Nexusmods lol.. fuck, how can they have hundreds or thousands of upvotes.. see the comparison image, that's their idea of "hires"..

this was in similar shitty shape

not perfect yet, but getting there, also needs some edits in PS.

Does it work on old floppy disk porn?
6647251b8723a
yes you can generate porn, like always its the most used thing for AI art i would say. it's impossible to find info on how to probably make textures... if you want to do faces, bodies, porn, there's already so many models out there that you probably don't need to do one.
if you say you're "doing textures" people directly assume you mean skin texture, for porn/bodies/faces. its kind of boring how uncreative people are, same when you look at TESnexus and see how many porn/body mods there are. people are very horny i guess, i mean i am too but not sure i'd spend hundreds of hours on doing porn models in AI  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When Schlongs of Skyrim hit the front page of the Nexus, I knew just how horny the community had become.

Dick mods are MUCH less popular than tiddy mods, and yet one made it to the front page. That terrifies me. The Skyrim community must be insanely horny.

To be fair, there really isn't much worthwhile content to actually do in Skyrim, so I guess it makes sense that people would want to fill it with eye candy to have something interesting to look at at least

i can't get over how unsexy i find 3D models lol... like i would be getting horny over what some 17 year old dude in his basement did in a 3D program, his horny dream.. hahaha. people are strange and each to his own etc.

I've spoken to others who have a similar point of view - namely that they can't get off on anything fictional, cartoon-like, stylized or 3d.  Just good old fashioned photography.  I can understand that but it doesn't apply to me.  IMO, there are certain attributes that draw the male eye.  If those attributes can be embellished or more striking (which is harder to do in real life), then all the better.  Look at how popular anime is... or any of the current fighting games (DOA, KOF, SF5, etc)

I am using it to make stuff for a System Shock Project

MidJourney is great

I tried Eleven Labs for voice, but so far can't get the voices to work

Character AI is fun too

Here is some stuff I generated.

yeah those are super nice! very cool :)

i tried to generate some SS2 voices via TorToiSe but there was too much background stuff or glitches. it kind of worked for xerxes but meh

Yeah I try to get system shock voices with Eleven Labs but so far it hasn't worked

I've tried SHODAN, Edward Diego, The Citadel Station PA System, etc but none of the end results sound anything like the characters

AI voice generation tends to only work well for monotone or already strange sounding voices, such as Dagoth Ur, which is why the only thing of value ever produced by eleven labs is Dagoth Ur memes.

sarge945Hmm I suppose that makes sense, tho I have seen it used for some Fallout characters as well.

I assumed it was cause of either background noise in clips I tried to use from the audio logs and emails or the clips I used weren't long enough

Still having tons of fun with A.I (and spicing it up a bit with photoshop, filterforge)..

I gave dark forces 2 a shot, i used its already upscaled images to build from (from the Dark Forces 2 remake mod), and i know those textures has been praised, so i can't even imagine how bad the original ones must look because those upscaled texture does not look good...

(watch full screen to see how poor the image quality of the original textures are)

also remade some walls too, cleans them up from artifacts rather nicely.

It baffles me how game studios (who perhaps enhances old games etc) still doesn't seem to use this tech that has been given to us completely free.

You can absolutely enhance every texture for an old game to look like new. These (+20'ish others i did) took a few hours. Those old games doesn't really use a lot of textures, 2000'ish (for Dark Forces 2). If they have someone who knows Python they can batch process this and it'd take 2 days maybe. then they would have to manually go through stuff, batch process poorly done stuff again etc, it would take a few days. Then spend perhaps a week (would require 1 person) fixing many of the textures in photoshop, because they will still have small imperfections.
