Thanks a lot! As a SS2 fan, I recently started playing SS1 (thx to the XP compatibility of SSP) and this is exactly what I was looking for.

Greetings from the Netherlands  :)

Upload the manual and with some luck it drives more visitors here. :)

I'm really sorry Kolya, I didn't think of all of that :(

You're right, it'd be best if the manuals stay here so that SBF can get more attention. What if I upload the English manual and then put a link to all the other manuals and ref cards on SBF in the Rdocs comments section of the manual's page (comments are displayed under the manual info). That way, people would come here for the English ref card and the other languages. System Shock portable is a really cool thing and as you said, a lot of people would be interested in it, if only for the XP compatibility alone.

I can't actually link back here because...well I don't have my own website :p

Couldn't you just link back here?

While I can't keep you from uploading the manuals I'm not fond of the idea. Following that logic all of SBF's content would have to be transferred to bigger, more well known sites...

But let's say you uploaded only the manuals. Now people who search for the manual will download it from replacementdocs.com. They never find SBF and therefor also miss SYSTEMSHOCK-Portable which they probably would have been interested in. But alas, they never see it and SBF stays unknown.

Kolya and Nothegger, would it be okay if I uploaded the English, German and French versions of the SS1 manual and ref card to www.replacementdocs.com ?. All credit would go towards you and StrangeBedFellows. I haven't found a PDF version of the SS1 manual anywhere else on the net except at HoTU and that's a really crappy version of it, and, given that there's only been about 400 downloads of the documentation total from this thread, I think it would be a great service to SS1 players if the manual were more easily locatable.

I see. I hadn't been checking SS news very often :rolleyesgreen:, so I was quite surprised to see all these mods and materials. Thanks and keep up the good work.

SBF was started about a year ago. I announced it at the end of February 2005 on TTLG. Click the ABOUT-button at the top if you want to know more.  :)

Finally, I don't have to use that stupid Ebook reader anymore, if I want to read the manual!  Thank you!  :thumbwink:

Ok, here it goes, straight from the System CD  :)
I also have a reference card ....  and I've uploaded it here too.

My version of the game, CD-ROM Classics edition, came with manual (LGS Terminal access) and reference card in English, German and French in PDF.

Here you will find the German manual and reference card for System Shock 1.
The English Manual you will find in Nothegger's post below.

BTW: Frank Dietz did a very good job with this German translation. It's very accurate even about the pseudoscientific terms and explanations while keeping it short and believeable. This is all the more surprising considering the time it was written. A standard for manual-translations to this day.
