I'd like to point out that the escape pod trip can be skipped if you want, just nudge the door in Security and it will open. This means you don't have to fight Diego the second time.

Also, if you're crafty enough with either turbo boots or jump jets, you can leap the gap in Security without needing to turn on the force bridge.
