Hey, everyone! I've been doing some fiddling with running System Shock 2 on Linux, (specifically GNOME on Debian 11) and I discovered a workaround for an issue with SCP that I've seen some people having issues with.
For some reason, when installing SS2Tool inside of a WINE environment, squirrel.osm is not included in the folder that holds the original game data. I don't know why this happens, but it can be easily remedied by backing up squirrel.osm before installing SS2Tool, and then adding it back into the Data folder.
Hope this helps! :)

SS2Tool is completely broken on Linux. Do not use it. Your only option is to run it on Windows and copy across the files.

While I'm glad to see more people using Linux overall, because it's a great operating system, I have noticed the deluge of posts about this recently. I wish everyone could see the main Linux installation issues thread and know what to do before posting (Maybe it should be stickied and unlocked @voodoo47 so that discussion on the issue can be focused there?)
