Y'know, in a funny way, I sometimes felt Goggles' original suit was similar to a samurai outfit.

As much as I love Killy and his wonderfully black wardrobe, I don't think the tattered-greeble-suit look really meshes with SS2's established style. Also greebles eat up a lot of polygons rather fast, and deform strangely.

I do agree the legs need work though. The sleeves on the other hand are intended to match that of the in-game weapons.

This is a concept that will have to be developed a bit more for sure :D

The arms and legs are bland and need more work. A battered motorcycle jacket with some technical gadgets would suit Goggles well. Some inspiration is attached.

Hm, that'd be tricky.  A jacket goes either way; either it's the most awesome thing ever or its the ugliest thing ever.  You think it could be military-issued or something?

I like the mask, it makes Goggles anonymous, which is good because lots of different people play him. Also it kinda evokes his transformation. The armour seems authentic though he wouldn't wear it at the start. Conceptually the armour makes Goggles appear too battle focussed (power ranger style), when he is meant to win by his brains.

Wow thats old. And bad.

Was tossing around the idea of a new model based on this altered design (wrench ninja!)

Its actually not that different from the original, just has a balaclava instead of a knit cap, and is wearing medium armor. Oh and the Illuminated Stealth Goggles.  :D
I love most of SS2's designs but Goggles forever makes me ill.

Not a bad idea.

I actually redesigned Goggles' original look a few times.  You can catch peeks of them on my Youtube channel (particularly the RttUNN series and my channel's background).

Actually, I just think the cap doesn't suit him at all.  It doesn't really fit with the setting or timeline and it looks a bit ugly.  But possibly I might have a change of heart, because it could have potential.

One could simply recolour the cap. I like red.

The problem with the Soldier's cap is that, given the mostly dark nature of the game, it will always look like a featureless black dome. Up until a few weeks ago I always thought it was supposed to be his hair!

Very true.  The torso gives me a hint at what this model would've became.  If this model had ever been finished (minus the hat) I would've downloaded it and tried it out in a heartbeat for co-op.

Really? Apart from a certain cartoonish look, which I'm willing to put down to the unfinished work, I think this is the best Goggles model I've seen.

That hat doesn't really suit him, but I could see some definite progress here.
