Download the 1.0.1 version. Its files are from 2013 whereas the files from the first version (which like many first versions doesn't have  a version number) are from 2008.

There are two downloads, both named final at the end but the second has a version number or whatever at the end. Which one should I pick?

I truly appreciate what leaf started & voodoo47 finished (along with new item info)! Thank you so, so much, was unable to fix anything with the silly wrench...

added your objicon, fixed the broken strings (also made them more vague, I think it's better this way, and also legally safe), and uploaded to the first post. not sure whether to remove the original download, so leaving it for now.

Thanks for the quick response. I have uploaded it to mediafire so check the following link:

http://www.mediafire.com/?ogl4z55du1lpab4

I included all of leaf's original mod except I have now added the much needed objicon which I feel is pretty satisfactory given the time it took me to complete (although I have never dealt with .pcx images before which took a bit of adjustment). Just install as normal by extracting everything to your root Shock folder and voila.

Now all we need is the text description of it changed from 'a very solid wrench' to 'a very solid crowbar'. What are strings responsible for out of interest?

you can't. drop it on mediafire or similar and post the link, then we'll see.

I know this thread has not been posted in for over 2 years but I just wanted to let people know I have created a custom objicon for the crowbar which matches the mesh in game. How do I attach files on here?

It's been two years and I haven't even attempted to make another remake and I probably won't as I am a lot more busy these days and I got my self into Doom, for the thousandth time. I have never really properly read this topic till now. This was probably a useless message but thought I would just mention it.

Seems to be taking an exceedingly long time with this demonstration video, so I took the liberty myself, and like an idiot, I used it to take out a rumbler in a very enclosed space. All things considered though, for a first post, I thought I might as well had make myself useful, offers had been made, but because I was bored, like it or not, I rose to the occasion :D

I have only just uploaded it, so it may not work right away, but here's the link regardless.

I feel silly for recording it in a dim space, but with the screenshot up there, it really didn't seem to need a bright area.

I got an impression Liam insisted about making his own remake.
I see that.

Liam, no need to be angry.. no one's perfect and everyone makes mistakes from time to time. When I was your age I was not even able to do any video nor post to forums, but time and mistakes themselves help to perfection. One does not need to erase them but to learn to make better in the future. And then the old mistakes are proofs to the progress one has made in the meantime. Criticism can help this progress to happen if you don't take it too personally or as an attack at yourself. Try to focus on the fact it's aimed at the outcome and not at your person. One can change and he always does.

I don't think it's necessary to redo the video but if you want to then the video should be a bit shorter and show the crowbar in a well lighted area with normal and overhead swings.

Ok should i remake it and make it 30 secons lond casuse i am doing. Im removing that one from youtube.

« on: 13. May 2008, 00:27:43 »

Yeah I was referring to Liam. It's quite boring to watch the same single motion over and over a hundred times for five minutes...overhead from time to time could spice it up a bit.

« on: 13. May 2008, 00:19:16 »

I didn't make the video, Liam did. And what does it matter if he did or didn't use overhead smashes? :P

"The mod is could HL2 crowbar"?

Aaaiiiggghhh....

« on: 12. May 2008, 21:14:56 »

Spending 5 long minutes just to watch bashing (not even with overhead smashes) is enough for anyone to hit STOP before getting to the text at the end which is the bigger problem. You've typed the address wrong. It's not

www.Stranbed
fellows.de

but

www.systemshock.org

as from the words Strange BedFellows

But I think it will draw additional browsers to this site anyway.

You can simply save your 3ds as a picture. Then you need to convert it to 8bit. Just make sure that the color around the weapon is transparent by placing it last in the pallette. If you need help, let me know.

:O I FORGOT TO PUT THE WORLD MODEL INTO THE ARCHIVE!?

I apologize. I also forgot to put the object icon in, too.

Will fix very soon.

Nice, simple and realistic. You should, however, really make a world model too.

Just a little wrench mod I whipped up in spare time.

Ported from Half-Life 2 with the Source SDK, I extracted the SMD from the MDL file and was completely appalled. The UV mapping on the crowbar was never finished! I had to finish it myself and I did the best I can, so I hope it looks good. The arm model was edited at least 32 times (how many files were generated by MilkShape and Blender.) Yes, I know there's a weird splitting texture on the arm. I don't know how to fix it. I edited the STR files that relate to the wrench, like the mouseover display and "?" description.

Just extract to root of install and enjoy!

Fixed missing world model, thanks Rainalkar! I still need to figure out how to make an objicon for the thing
