I kind of limit my mobility by doing that but I instinctively want to stay as far away from the enemies as possible so I tend to cower near the bottom lol.  You seem to like this stuff right?  Didn't you say there was some multiplayer coop shmup at one point?  BigSky was it?

EDIT:  Oops... looks like you already said it's no good for net play.  Maybe I can find another game.

Interesting, you're staying at the bottom most of the time. I tend to move vertically much more and I never got too far.
Anyway, congrats! :thumb:

That sounds like something best played.... with a friend ;)
Indeed indeed. I'm not sure if it's playable via internet, I'll look into that tonight. Would be be fun, eh?

EDIT: Meh, looks like Really Big Sky supports only local multiplayer at this time.

If you're into shmups you might like Really Big Sky. It's what I'm currently playing. Quite confusing at first (despite the tutorial) but definitely worth sticking with it. And there's a demo. http://bossbaddie.co.uk/bigsky/
Full game is 8.99$ on Steam.
The main thing to know at the start is that right click toggles a drill that digs you through planets (the big black that kills you).

I may have a facility for it.  RTS games are an example of something I just can't do on the other hand.  I've been playin SC/BW since 98 and I still can't beat the worst Korean on bnet.

Well that's about a hundred more waves than I usually manage. Not bad, really not bad.

Level 93!  I'm gettin there XD

EDIT2:

Shit... 156, just 5 waves short of the dude above.

EDIT3:

He still has me in score though.

°shmup

Self Destruct is a fast paced and fun arcade shmup by Terry Cavanagh (who's also responsible for the much hailed VVVVVV).

The game is not too punishing in the beginning, no bullet hell and one shot doesn't kill you. However it does get harder very fast and one game usually will last no longer than 2 minutes (unlike in the video below). Enemy formations and waves are randomly generated and while that doesn't make a great difference there's a definitive one-more-try addictiveness to it.

When you turn on your shield you can absorb blue shots for an extra power shot. The graphics are old school pixel art, nothing fancy but they work well in this game. Soundwise it has a great chiptune, some arcade SFX and a Bitching Betty informing you about your progress.

I suggest to get the offline version since it doesn't require internet access and getting into the highscore is pretty much hopeless anyway.
