Should I play SS1 Enhanced or a modded original release

Hey guys I recently bought both SS games on GOG and I have both an enhanced edition of the first game and the original release. for a first play should I install the Enhanced version or play the original with a whole bunch of fixes installed?

I like "original" SSP with resolution patch added and maybe the log patch too to match speeches if you want to read along the audio.
