the manager follows the prison rule, whoever is on top has the final say. don't drop your soap!

I think it's confusing because most people's experience with mod managers these days is through Nexus Mod Manager, where the bottom has priority.

So if System Shock 2 is like a prison, Nexus Mods is like a twink walking into a bear bar filled with thirsty 50-somethings

I'm pretty sure in the past that it used to be the other way around in blue mod manager before it was changed, leading to some mod instructions being outdated (which confuses new people even more).

yes, I think we had that very early in the development, but that has been ages ago, any guide that still works with that setting is completely out of date anyway. and while I understand some people may find it odd, it is what it is now, and it's definitely not going to be changed again.

also, Nexus Mod Manager, yeah, lets make sure we don't end up like that. very unpleasant experience.

Don't get me fucking started.

It's still better than the old version, but I think Vortex needs to be sucked into a vortex and never return

I was probably using the old version (playing FO4 when it was almost new, loading a few mods trying to fix the most glaring issues with the game for a while, until I basically got bored with all the brokenness and just stopped caring and quit), but I'd be surprised if things improved in the meantime, unless they trashed it and started from square one.

playing FO4

I'm very sorry for your loss

unless they trashed it and started from square one.

They did. But it didn't help. It went from a big broken mess of c# to a big broken mess of c#, but with a nicer skin.

welp, I don't see myself going back to FO4 in the next decade or two, so they have plenty of time to maybe get it right on the 3rd try.
