Given my setup I don't expect much support, however I'm going to give it a shot anyway just to double check if I did something blatantly wrong because I don't see anything obvious in the logs. The symptom is the game will rarely (and I mean inbetween hours of gameplay) without any discernable patterns. I thought it was related to level loads since it would do it in the elevator but it happened while I was running through the game normally. Basically it freezes, makes a static noise and then the game exits. Happens regardless of mod loadout (including disabling hud logs), with or without OpenAL soft and I've already reinstalled the game. Attached are the logs, I just removed paths because it contains my name. Also this is the Steam version on Linux.

crash.dmp could be useful. if not, blame linux?

random stuff can be audio related, any special audio hardware?

Yeah I tried to upload the crash.dmp but it's 600 megabytes. Any recommendations for file hosting?

> if not, blame linux?

I mean if there's nothing wrong with my load order (or in the logs), that's basically what I'm trying to eliminate.

> random stuff can be audio related, any special audio hardware?

No, I don't have sound cards or anything. Just using the OpenAL soft DLL and it works perfectly fine, nothing in the logs either. I don't have issues with other games so it's definitely related to SS2 somehow, it's just hard to reproduce and there doesn't seem to be a specific cause. I'm almost tempted to think that it happens when I'm moving too fast but that could be pure coincidence.

max compression on 7zip should shrink it to some 100 megs, which should be manageable (gdrive, mediafire, etc).

What distro you on?

I have had some infrequent crashing in Manjaro, but it was related to picom. Are you running picom by chance? (you should be it's basically default in any Arch based distro and I think Ubuntu based distros as well). I also noticed bad performance degredation with it on.

Fedora, not running picom. Just using the default XFCE compositor.

looks like the crashdump expired before I could actually get it.

Managed to get a wine stacktrace but it's not very helpful:

I would like to send a bug report to either Proton or Wine but they are likely to not provide support because of "third party modifications" (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/3252#issuecomment-557942378). The alternative is to attach a wine debugger but it would kill performance and since the crash is infrequent would be a pain in the ass. Guess I'll just live with it.  :/

It looks unreal. Like some kind of paradise.
