I warn that the first season is half half, but it picks up majorly from season 2 onward. The spinoff "Crusade" is also very average. Main series + the movies though - Great.

I like the startrek source material for system shock much more. I still think that is more like what deep space nine looked like under cardassian (facist) rule. Mining processor station. It's just missing the class struggle in addition to the corporate struggle. Though, its easy to imagine anything on C-level is cardassian and anything lower is bajoran. The whole game is like s03e18 "distant voices" of DS9, complete with the horror alien feel. But startrek fell off a cliff so its not like they can use that anymore..

And you would think, bioshock, in space, would be inspired by startrek III, the search for spock (and also II, the wrath of khan) after the effects of the genesis device manifest themselves. It';s actually perfect..... the original story had everything you need ..
