SS2 - Patch 2.3 - "Skip Intro" problem

Hi, I notice this "problem" (if I say that) after installing the patch that change the game from 1.15 version to 2.3.

First of all: SORRY for my English, I know that's very bad! I'm Italian.

When the patch has finished to work
if you start SS2, the game goes to the Main Menu (that now has a new button: "Multiplayer")
but there's no more the INTRO movie that shows
the Irrational Games logo and the Looking Glass logo.
You can find that in the "X:\Sshock2\cutscenes" folder (the Intro.avi).

That's because the Patch create a line in the "cam.cfg" file about that
(you can find the cam.cfg file in X:\Sshock2" folder)
Open it with Notepad.

the line "skip_intro" causes that "problem".
I tried to cancel this line, save the file, and run the game again.
The "Intro.avi" starts!
After that, I quit the game, and restart SS2.
No more intro movie!
So, I opened the cam.cfg file again and the line "skip_intro" has appeared.

Is there a way to fix that?

Hehe, that's not a bug that needs fixing. Irrational just thought that people wouldn't want to see the logo-movie every time they start the game. So they created this flag which skips the intro after the first time.

You can "fix" it if you want by removing the "skip_intro" line and then making the cam.cfg file read only, but before you do, make sure you have your options configured the way you want them, because some of them save their configurations in that file.

A simple solution to deceive a System.

However, also with the Patch 2.3, you can play the Game in all its beginning-entire concept

Wait...what?
What I mean is, go into your settings in System Shock 2, set them all where you want them, then quit. Open cam.cfg in Notepad, delete the skip_intro line, then save and close the file. Right-click on cam.cfg, click Properties, then put a check mark in the Read-only box. Click Apply, then OK. Done!
