Yet Another 'My game crashes on Win 7' thread

Greetings everyone. I really hate that my first post is about how System Shock 2 is not working, but well.. it isn't.

Don't get me wrong. It worked wonderfully for the first 6 - 8 hours but now whenever I want to leave Command Deck A it crashes and the only failure message I get is:

Not entirely to helpful for my taste and hence I wonder if anyone can offer any solution as to the what or how it could be fixed?

I already used the ss2 tools 3.6 version.
Using Windows 7 and a Nvidia GPU.
I am also using SecMod to modify the gameplay.

Try deactivating SHTUP if you have it. See here.

You should be able to turn it later on again. Playing without SHTUP for elongated times can lead to fuzzy vision.
