"Installation & Getting mod ready
Don't use the installer that comes with the game. Instead simply copy the "shock" folder from the CD to your computer. (80 characters maximum path length. On Windows Vista/7 do not copy to the "Program Files" folder.) Download the SS2Tool to your desktop and doubleclick it. When asked, point it to your "shock" folder."

I've done all that but still cant get the game to run :C
Any help would be greatly appreciated

These are the installation instructions for installing from the original CD or ISO, as found in the SS2 Tech FAQ.
Do you have an original CD/ISO?

EDIT: I have updated the Tech FAQ to include instructions for the GOG release.
