My game locks up when audio in certain places plays

I recently got the game and found that running it would not work. I used an altered target to launch the setup, however, now it crashes ingame. specifically when certain audio files play. I have tried all the compatibility settings and nothing has worked. please help .

Make sure to turn off compatibility settings, then follow the instructions in the SS2 Tech FAQ.
