You don't need modding experience for this. Just download a good text editor like Notepad++ or PSPad. Then open the files from this mod in the editor, compare with the original files and you'll soon get the hang of it.

Well as far as I have looked, the translation seems complete. Of course I've seen some rare aukward things but I thought that the most interesting would be to continue the translation for big mods.

I mean if some mods add strings, it could be a good idea to make specific mod-compatible versions of the translation.

After I could translate famous FMs too but the main question is "Are there many french shock players ?"

ADaoB and Secmod both change lots of strings. (Secmod includes ADaoB)

I don't include any of Adaob's string changes (which are mostly spelling corrections anyway aren't they) but I do have some new items that have completely new strings, whether they're worth translating is up to whomever

all translations should be put on top of mods to overwrite just translated parts...
there are also some graphical things to be translated... take some other translations as an example to see which files are to be translated.

Some stuff is still missing though: most of the cutscenes, the many, logs with xxxxx in the english text, descriptive titles in between.
Since my french is bad and my french is bad (that's what she said), it would be frogging, ehm, friggin awsome, if someone could have  a look and translate the remaining english fragments.

I had no part in the creation of the translation. I just made the logpage.
The original creator are not registered here I think, and their newest posts on ttlg.com and other pages date back to 2004.
So maybe it's not easy to contact them, but I guess they wouldn't mind if you take their work as a base if you give credit.
It would be most awesome to have some french audio with the texts...

Thanks for answering me unn_atrapos. I've fear that furthermore i don't have any e-mail address to contact them. Anyway, i will give proper credits for their works. About french voices, it will be difficult - i prefer good english voiced characters over bad french ones And i am planning to translate HUD graphic elements too

Quite easy, juste save your work in OEM format, not ANSI nor UTF-8. I will keep both wide open and my ears too

The engine uses a bitmap-based character set, so it can be made to support whatever characters you want.
