Simply Won't Start

So, I am trying to run this fantastic game on my XP machine, and when I load it up, I got a message saying something like "There are known compatability issues with this version of Windows. Press Continue to Continue, or cancel". When I pressed continue, nothing would happen, except the window would close. Now I don't even get that after uninstalling and then reinstalling...Please help?
