Well there's your problem. That combination of CPU cooler, keyboard, and mouse are known to cause SS2 to not run. Good thing you included that information or we never would have figured this out!

WTF, you're trying to game on monitors in portrait mode? Uh, yeah... wow. Okay, you might be able to make that work by editing cam_ext.cfg in the root of the SS2 folder to add your desktop resolution. See the variable user_mode1. You'll probably also want to enable UI scaling.

actually, if you have that many 16:9 monitors, portrait mode is the way to go. and yeah, this will require a custom display mode in cam_ext.cfg - edit the file in notepad, find

Well now I get the load screen and the intro but the game crashes.

Take a look in the options of the game and see if you can select the 5400x1920 resolution there now.

duh, managed to miss that. yeah, in that case, checking the resolution in the graphics options is a good idea - 5400x1920 must be available there to actually work. also, eyefinity mode should be set to single desktop mode (or whatever it's called, basicaly, the mode where eyefinity pretends to the system that just one large monitor is connected instead of three regular ones) in the control panel, if memory serves.

ok, if the game crashes, you should have a crash.dmp and shock2.log in your game folder - zip them up, upload to some online storage and post the link.

this is your problem. you are running the game in the DX6 safemode, and eyefinity will not work under DX6. edit your cam_ext.cfg, find enable direct3d 9 and make sure it looks like this:

And better too much information than too little when describing a problem. Aside from which, the topic creator might be a completely clueless about PCs (no offense meant, lots of very intelligent people have no understanding, or the time/desire to learn, how a PC works internally), and if so then how's he to know what's relevant and what isn't? And in fact it's not completely impossible that a badly written (or corrupt) third party piece of software that comes with a mouse could somehow cause seemingly unrelated problems in Windows.

Thank you all for the help. I did as u suggested and it still crashes. and as for my snarky reply I have never been made fun of on a help forum and am thinking I may have over reacted. I am impressed as to the attention I am getting trying to solve my issue. This is one of the best forum's.

again, post both shock2.log and crash.dmp - also, try activating the windowed mode, edit cam_ext.cfg and make sure force_windowed will look like this:

I would try to disable 4 of the 5 monitors. If that's not easily possible try copying the game folder to an USB stick and run the game on another computer with a single monitor. What I would like to know is if this is a problem with the eyefinity setup or something else entirely.
