I'm a noob, is ShockEd hard to use?

depends on what you want to do - for example, moving objects around is pretty simple, but generally, this is not an easy tool.

I want to edit a gamesys that makes enemies drop CM's and also increasing the price for upgrades.
I wrote this kind off weird. What I meant was, there is a mod that makes enemies drop CM's here, but I want to change the values of it. Not make my own when there already is one.

that would mean modifying loot lists and price lists. not extremely difficult, I think.

Can I basically put in anything I want them to drop in these said loot lists?

it probably needs to be a valid pickable object (so for example, crates and corpses would be a bad idea), but apart from that, yeah, I think it can be pretty much anything - consumables, upgrades, modules.

Good. Because I want every researchable enemy to instantly drop their research soft so I don't need to kill another one to get it if the first didn't.

not 100% sure whether this can be done in vanilla, but NVscript has NVGuaranteedLoot, that should definitely make it possible.

Oh good, XP grinding in SS2.

yeah, such a mod will definitely not make it to the official recommended list - while there are hints that IR was considering this at some point, there is a reason it didn't make it into the final build.

Yup. That was EXACTLY my plan. Good work in unveiling it.

A similar mod attempt like you describe: d0om AssimilationMod beta
Might be helpful.

I want everyone to read the third post on this thread, the orange text specifically.

well go ahead and change the values then. that is pretty easy, you just have to find them. implementing new stuff is what is hard.
