Hello Mike. I can open these archives just fine in TotalCommander. Try clearing your cache or using a different browser just for this.

First, I want to apologize for bumping an old thread, but BMM is saying this mod is unrecognized and I wanted to make sure I was installing it properly. Do I extract the 7z file into its own folder and activate it in BMM like other mods? Thanks.

yes. the folder structure of the download is proper - make sure you extract the files correctly, should be DMM\Exclusive Dооr\obj\(txt16 folder and DOOR_S1.bin file).

also, no need to apologize (for any valid question/request).

That's what I have aside from my BMM folder being named DIMM.

Attached are my BMM list and my folder structure for the mod.

That's what I did, which is why I'm stumped this mod isn't working. Everything else shows up fine. :(

I think I know what's going on - try this: delete the Exclusive Door Alternative folder from the DMM folder. create a new folder in the BMM folder manually, name it Exclusive Door Alternative (yes, I'm not kidding). now open the archive, and copy the obj folder into the new Exclusive Door Alternative folder manually. see whether it will work.

also, for anyone who might be looking at System's screenshots for reference, NEVER load FMs as mods - there is a good reason why FMselect exists.

I tried that, but still no dice. I checked the archive and it has:

CREDITS.txt
obj\DOOR_S1.BIN
obj\txt16\cap_door.tga

Could the door_s1.bin be the issue here? As I've said, I've been able to install about a dozen other SS2 mods without issue, so I'm not sure why this one is giving me problems.  :( And thanks for the help, Voodoo.  :thumb:

ok, I have overwritten all folder and file names on an english pc and reuploaded, redownload and try again.

the evil sneaky crap that has been happening here is that the font/encoding was all weird - basically, it looks like english, but it's not, and that's throwing BMM off (as special characters are not allowed). this managed to get through my testing because I tend to shorten all unnecessarily long mod folder names manually after extracting.

in soviet russia, a font overwrites you, or something along those lines.

These doors look great in game I really like them.

I'll note that the latest addition, though being named "Vanil" is actually not a 1:1 hires version of the original/vanilla door (as seen on the first screenshot).

The exclusive door vanilla have a lighting problem, its triangular from left to right

My bad, it just had to have an higher priority than SHTUP to have the correct lighting.
The original version is missing texture though, even when put to top priority.

I like the new symbol though the green color I'm not a fan of. If 2 separate versions were made available - 1 with the grey and the other with the new green then you have my vote.

How is this trashcan regularly emptied? The original had segmentations suggesting you could take off the top. This is a one piece.
Also I thought the indirect trash light in the original can was pretty futuresque, but it's missing here. Conscious decision?

when compared to vanilla, the lighting and shading seems off on both models.
665c001face4a
I have to agree with voodoo47 about the lighting and with Kolya's concern about how the trash can is emptied.

As first attempt I think it is promising and there is space for improvement!

lol I read the thread split from this one, and things got really out of hand just from talking about a trash can mod. I love this forum.

In all seriousness, though, are we really so concerned about the lighting of the trash can and how the trash can empties? Because I don't think about that when seeing a vanilla SS2 trash can. I think, "My god, that's an ugly texture." And the blue colour makes it blend in better with the scenery now. While I admit I don't want to make the effort to download a mod that only changes the appearance of trash cans, I think it's certainly an improvement over the original.
