3D or VR ports?

I passed across a comment from someone saying sshock1 had native vr support. Is this accurate? If so, is anyone aware of any projects going on to give either game 3d or vr (like google cardboard) support? I'm intrigued with how the vr movement is progressing but I still have yet to enjoy an old classic like doom, or even better system shock, in a vr environment. So far it's been virtual roller coaster rides and asteroid shooting.
