Topic: SS1 skates problem Read 512 times

I'm replaying SS1 for a second time in years (decades actually) and only after getting to L8 I have realized, that the skates aren't working the way they're supposed to. In the floppy version I remember being able to bank left or right and move almost at right angles to the ground. Now the hacker always stays horizontal no matter what I do. Was that feature removed? I'm using the CD-ROM version F1.6C in true DOS, 640x480. True2audio is the only mod I have installed. Thanks for your help.

To illustrate the issue here are some screencaps from the floppy version F1.5S

I have seen no SS1 caps like this anywhere else.

whatever that is, 99% it's a orig LGS thing, as it would be virtually impossible to change the game this way with tools that are currently available.

That's probably correct. Now I recall that I bought the CD-ROM edition of the game sometime in 1995 while still playing the original floppy version (not the one included on the CD-ROM). I immediately tried to transfer the save files to it but was disappointed by the lack of flying skates. So I finished the floppy version never trying to replay the game again. Until now. The question is: Was this feature intentionally left out by LGS from the CD-ROM editions, or is this some kind bug of mine? Can somebody replicate the behaviour?
