Would it be possible to retexture SS2 to make a fan mission that is a remake of SS1? Just curious, I do not have the know-how to accomplish this.

CCP aimed to do just that. But the project's basically dead afaik.

It's not quite dead; people still work on it occasionally, but very, very slowly.
It needs more people and more interest.
