As far as I can tell, there's no way to launch fan missions directly through BMM standalone. Launching through Steam (Launch with Fan Missions) doesn't load the mods activated in BMM. Question is, how do I launch an FM with mods (SHTUP, Tacticool specifically) with the Steam version of the game?

I've copied my Steam SS2 install to a different location (Outside program files) as recommended, and installed SS2tool. However I'm still not sure how to launch FMs this way.

Alright, managed to get it to launch with FMs, by editing cam_mod.ini. Everything works, except attempting to attack instead opens my inventory, despite that key being rebound.
Running UNN Nightwalker with mods Rebirth, SHTUP, Secmod and the Tacticool weapons pack.

never use the modmanager to run FMs. the tool will create a SS2 Fan Mission Selector shortcut, just run that, allow it to create the FMs folder, exit, extract/move the FM of your choice (if this is your first time running fan missions, try RttUNN, very close to the orig gameplay) there (remember, each FM must have its own folder), run the shortcut again, and the FM will launch.

alternatively, check this for manual activation.

Just to clarify, I'm simply using the mod manager to launch the game, with mods active - I have the FMs in their own folder - as they were on steam install - and edited cam_mod so it'd launch FMSel first. All the mods are loaded, the FM works fine. Only problem was that binding issue, which I solved by removing the line "bind mouse1 +drag_drop_mode" and replaced it with "bind mouse1 +fire_weapon".

yes, that should be the proper way of launching FMs with mods enabled. as long as the fan mission isn't loaded in the mod manager.

odd thing with that mouse binds, that is something very old that shouldn't be necessary anymore. maybe some old custom binds?

Not quite sure, this was the opposite of the whole "Can't drag/drop" thing that I'd experienced a number of time before. Never come across this one however.
