So basically , i downloaded the newest version of the SS2 tool  (which is ver 1.1.1)  and it was perfectly fine. But when i tried to run the Blue Mod Manager it said that i don't have the resources to run it and my antivirus said that the mod manager was a HEUR/APC virus.  That could be a false positive for the virus but im not sure. But the mod manager does not work anyways, so pleas halp . Thanks!

It was version 6.1.1.1, if that confuses anybody , my mistake.

Your antivirus is Qihoo-360?
Turn it off, use windows defender instead, if you're on windows 10.
Anyway, it's probably not working because your antivirus is blocking it.
What is your OS?

Well actually i am using avira. But i guess mines has the cloud on it or something. The one listed in the link you put said no cloud in parenthesis. I am using wiindows 10.

In any case it's a false positive. The manager is written by a long standing member of our community. You can find the source code here: https://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=4790.0

Try updating Avira. I don't know its cloud function, maybe look that up and see if you can turn it off. And report the false positive to Avira, that'd be nice.

This is a false positive alert likely triggered by the 7z.dll loaded by SS2BMM at runtime which is something an actual virus might attempt, hence the warning. There is no cause for concern whatsoever, though. If you don't believe me, upload the file to https://www.virustotal.com/

Ok thanks guys, but there is still one more problem. When i run the mod manager , a popup comes up saying that i dont have the sufficient system resources to complete the requested service. I know that i can run it because i was using it before I updated. Any thoughts on that?

That doesn't sound like a SS2BMM specific error message. Please post a screenshot, preferably using the debug build:

@Marv: You cannot link to downloads. It will just redirect to the thread. Link to the relevant post instead.

So the first pic is from just the regular SS2bmm and the other is the debug version of it that u linked.

the second one looks like you running the exe from the rar archive, which is a bad idea. extract the archive into your SS2 folder (maybe rename or back up the original files first).

So i did what u  said and it still has the same popup. i put it in my SS2 folder and renamed the originals.

Whoch OS are you running?
And have you tried with temporary disabled anti-vir?
665c86c0a046e
Okay, the second problem is probably because Visual Studio disallows statically linking debug runtime DLLs. In that case, the debug build will be of no use to you - sorry, my bad, didn't know about this.

As for your original problem: The only thing that has changed at startup between the last version and this one is that the application searches for archives in the DMM folder and tries to extract them.
Some googling suggests that the error occurs for heavily fragmented or locked files. Is the antivirus programm somehow still active and blocks access to and from ss2bmm.exe? What happens when you manually install the normal version from here, rename it (like "ss2bmm_B"), disable AntiVir completely, and then run it?
I'm not at my PC at the moment. If the problem persists, I can upload a new version which does not link to 7z.dll on startup. If that runs fine, your ss2bmm.exe is either corrupted or still locked in quarantine by AntiVir. Otherwise, we'd be swamped with similar error reports.

What is the location of the game folder?

What is the location of the game folder?
C:\Games\System Shock 2 (i.e. it's not the Program Files problem)

Whoch OS are you running?
Windows 10 (mentioned somewhere above)

Could be a bad driver taking up too many resources (relevant solved example). Or any other program doing the same.
Can you start other applications when this error occured?

Here's also a vague connection to Avira.

So i took the SS2bmm file out of quarantine from avira and i told it to just ignore the file and now it works. I guess avira was the problem. Thanks for all the help guys! Hopefully this helps someone else.

if you’ve got a spare half a million you could knock it down and start rebuilding
