No connection with steam?

Are mods only activated with BMM? When I launched SS2 with steam, mods aren't activated, unlike BMM.
 Is there no solution about connecting with steam?

once you activate the mods, you can launch the game in any way you want, and they will work (unless you verify the cache in the meantime).
