Just a question, will games in progress work with this?

Yah, no problem. That issue only comes up when a mod contains a shock2.gam file. This one is purely cosmetical.

I just installed ss2 (game started fine without any problems - lucky me). Then I went for ss2tool, ss2mm, and 4 mods - rebirth, shtup, adaob 0.2.9 (although ss2mm says its 0.2.8?) and this cool looking tcpistol. After activating first 3, the ss2mm says that pistol mod conflicts with adaob. Can I still activate it?

if you look better you'll see there is "ADaoB compatibile" version of the pistol available in first post... guess what, it really is even if the Mod manager without AI says there's conflict

Hey, I noticed that and dl'ed the compatibile version right away... Just wanted to know whether it was normal for ss2mm to display conflict message. Thx.

Yes, the modmanager simply detects concurrent files. It will use the last one activated.

Koyla,
Is this also compatible with ADaob v.0.2.9? It only states that it's compatible with v.0.2.8...
Thank you Koyla!!

Looks like he's all done with this, I'm afraid. I was really hoping he'd come out with an assault rifle as I haven't really seen a decent replacement for that.

I have what I can only assume is some noobish question, but...
I keep hearing people talk about the sliding barrel on the pistol...
Is that a mod or something one needs to implement? Because as I live and breathe, I don't see the recoiling barrel when I shoot my pistol, whether it be the vanilla model or this mod.

Re: Tacticool Weapon Replacements

There are several options to see the sliding barrel:
1. Install ADaoB => Vanilla pistol + slide
2. Install the pistol from this mod => Cool pistol + slide
3. Install ADaoB + the ADaoB compatible pistol from this mod => Cool pistol + slide
The other option would be that we made a mistake somewhere and it doesn't work as expected. Unlikely but not impossible. Or the slide is just very fast. Like in Real Life. While this would be a great explanation ("It's REALISTIC man!") it would still suck. Anyway, try the numbered options if you haven't already.

A bit of a status update:
My main computer is inoperable at the moment but it shouldn't be that way for long.
Thanks to my awful memory, I'm going have to relearn the entire horrible process of Dark Engine mesh importing all over again.
But anyway, not dead. Yet.
Laser Pistol is in the game but still needs to be textured.
Assault Rifle is in game and ready for textures but I'm not happy with it and I think it needs a redesign.
The rest of the weapons WILL be properly conceptualized on paper before I start modeling them so the end result is far more cohesive.
Once I finish the laser pistol and AR, I'll be asking everyone what they want to see next.
I also had been experimenting with character meshes and managed to get a SS1 mutant running around in Med/Sci in place of the pipe hybrid. If people want it, I'll put it up.

I'm pretty sure I beat the shit out of these hybrids before at some point, but what the hell. Looking forward to the laser pistol.

I'm pretty sure that SS1 mutant would be very popular among mods. Great work.
