Music and voice issues

I've just recently reinstalled SS2 with the SS2Tool and a few mods. I had gone into the in-game settings to change a few controls and audio settings. Though once I had finished; the music had cut out which has usually happened when I've modified the volume levels and sometimes with hardware acceleration and EAX but it had almost always come back when I've started a playthrough or rebooting the game. But it had been completely cut out even with rebooting the game and starting a new playthrough as well as an "transmissions" or PDAs wont play.  If anyone can help it'd be greatly appreciated.

keep the voice/ambient balance slider in the middle (audio options).
