As an experiment, I tried extending one of the music files in Sony Vegas Pro 16 - specifically '03ALL.wav' in Data/res/snd.crf/SONGS - and then readding it to the archive. When I listened to it in-game, it was slowed down. However, when I did the same thing with one of the WAV files in 'amb', it worked perfectly. Is there any way to prevent System Shock 2 from slowing down extended music files and loop them normally? Thanks

WAV files in songs must all be saved in exactly the same format.

And overwriting original files is a terrible, bad, no good way to mod the game. The mod manager exists for a reason. Use it.

Specifically, what ZB is saying is that you should never modify the original crf files.

Files in a folder with the same name placed either in the game root or in a mod root will override files in in the crf.  Do it that way, don't modify the crf files themselves.

I honestly don't understand why anyone would add files to the game root when making a mod is as simple as creating a subfolder in the DMM folder, then it's easy to enable/disable, zip for distribution, etc etc.

I was wrong. It exists anyway.
