Another oddity I've noticed: when you hack some of the defense turrets on the Rickenbacker, two announcements of Xerxes saying "Unit ### compromised." play at the same time. This seems to happen with every "Rickenbacker defense turret" type gun, i.e. the ones that are hanging from the ceiling.

At the beginning of this month Voodoo47 posted on gog.com about his new version and that It would arrive "soon". Now that April is around the corner it becomes apparent, that "soon" really is a question of definition :D

So, what's the status of this ingenious project?

still can't give any ETA, as I'm not the only person working on things, but I can reveal that currently, I'm working on the last map - Body of the Many. one final stretch, and we are there.

Well, and then we are to testing, figuring out how to implement some of the more technically problematic fixes, tweaking the gamesys, etc.

we can keep fixing for the next 5 years and still not be done. at some point, we will have to say "it's good enough for a public betatest" and release it. and I think we are better off doing this sooner than later - we won't be able to catch all the bugs anyway, a brute force of Many testers is necessary for that.

It seems that you do some major changes to the mod, but I ask anyway. Will it be required/recommended to start a new game with next ADaoB version?

yes, you will be required to start a new game. continuing from a save will probably cause strange issues (and make any bugreports you would potentially submit completely worthless).

In the Body of the Many there is one specific egg which I am unable to search for no apparent reason. It is one of the eggs hanging from the ceiling in the man-made area located at the far end of the loop next to the first sphincter. See also the screenshot below. This problem can't be because I am too far away from the egg as there is another one right next to it which I can open up just fine.

Can we get an ETA or at least bit of a list what the next release will include? I'm so, SO tempted to play SS2 but I want ADaoB installed and that 0.3.0 looks great enough, but who knows what there is in store...

yeah, I'm really happy that I did not give an ETA for the new version back on GOG, as things seem to go slower than anticipated. but I can post the general fix list, I guess;

-fixed hundreds, if not more items (locations, positions, scale, rendering etc)
-fixed many broken, incorrect or misaligned textures
-fixed many broken, incorrect or misaligned brushes
-fixed some broken or incorrect gamesys functionality
-tweaked an insane amount of other small things (scripted sequences, missing sounds etc etc)

basically, the new version of the bugfix patch (now officially named SCP - Shock Community Patch) should play just like vanilla SS2, minus all the weird stuff that made you go "wtf did I just see".
