Why not make a thread about it here?  It'd be nice to know where the project stands, who's working on it and what needs to be done.
We have a forum on TTLG, we just haven't opened it up to the public yet. We probably will soon, though, and when we do, we'll let people know on here as well.

It's like hoping to find a girlfriend in your room. If you ain't going out it'll be hard to get attention, let alone someone to work with you on the project.

It's good to have some diversions when working on these guns.  Modeling props and items is easy and downright relaxing and might even keep me from getting so burnt out (maybe I'll actually finish three guns in a row this time!)

Forgive me but I'm rather skeptical about CCP after having done some forum dredging on it a while back.  It seems that nobody really wants to commit to it, there's a lot of quibbling over entirely inconsequential details and more excuse-making than signs of actual tangible progress.  Like I said, I offer my services for the completion of a functional Medical level and we'll see how things stand after that.  I hope that forum is made public soon though.

Anyhow, grenade launcher:

It's just about ready to enter the texturing phase as the geometry isn't being half as finicky as the AR was.  Hopefully will be done before the week is out.  But then I said something similar about the AR and that ended up taking 3 years or something  :D

I was gonna ask which one you were gonna tackle next, but you've already answered my question! exclamation point!!  as always, very nice so far, keep up the good work!   I must say that i've seen a few hi-res models to replace the AR, and I always liked the original better. yours just seems to "fit".  The original wasn't a victim of bad design, just bad graphics.  but hey, all games get old eventually.  Hi-res HL2 pack, anybody?

I think it's a good idea to shorten the "barrel" a bit, very nice.
The magazine could be a little less bulky in my opinion, I never like the original model for it.

The original design of the Grenade Launcher was likely the worst of all weapons - I don't think there would be any serious objections to adding more of your flavour to it, which you've proven to do in an astonishing manner. Maybe - just maybe - it could use more details, but I'll hold my word till I see it textured.

When it comes in staying true to the original I would say it is as good as it gets. I was hoping that you would take some departure and make it more futuristic - but I'm not complaining. Good job.

Very true to the original, but not one of my favourites.
Nevertheless, very well done.


NV: While I'm not particulary fond of RocketMan's weapon pack (sorry, RocketMan ;) ), his version of the crystal shard is both true to the original and very well textured. I'm voting for Laser Rapier and Fusion Cannon. :D

I think you should write "Here's the SS2 weapon list by Mercuris", since some weapons he didn't make as yet (like exotic) have been made by others, like Rocketman, and were a great job done.

I vote Fusion Cannon :)

The old launcher was so anachronistic with that wooden stock and the M79 aesthetics, simply modernizing it was a major change!  I was trying to think of ways to add glowy bits but in the end, it just didn't look right.

I was thinking of doing the EMP Rifle since it's my favorite.

I have some ideas for the shard, but I think I'll experiment with that much later.  Same with the rapier.  They're both weapons that won't benefit from a straight resolution-increase like all the guns so making use of the available special effects might yield favorable results.

It's true there's quite a bit of overlap now between Tacticool and other weapon mod packs.  However Tacticool is its own package, not a collaboration and I don't plan on stopping where others have already tread so I'm regarding every uncrossed-out entry on NV's list as on my TODO list.  This is good because it allows for more variety!
