SS1 EE Crashes on doing a wire puzzle

So I can play the game fine up until I get to the first wire puzzle which is for an elevator I assume, it's only about five minutes into the game.

I can open the puzzle just fine, but when I click anywhere on the grid, instantly my game just closes without any error message being shown. Highly irritating. Any ideas what could be causing it?

Ah nevermind I have solved it.

I was using too high of a custom resolution.
