Can someone tell me which mod adds "blue laser ray" for laser pistol?

Thanks voodoo47.
I just found out, thant this feature was in SS2 Straylight ADaOB v0.3.0 but is not included in SS2 Community Patch (SCP) Beta 4. Since SS2 TF's Secmod 3 is too big game changer I wonder is there any stand alone mod for this. Tried to use ShockEd myself but its too difficult for me :) If there is no stand alone mod, maybe some good moder could edit shock2.gam from SS2 Community Patch (SCP) Beta 4 and upload.

it's more complicated than that - doing the laser beam as a standalone mod would be mid-level stuff. I mean, feel free to get into SS2 modding, but it will be a while until you can do this yourself, most likely.

I would like to see a standalone mod of the coherent laserbeam

btw. years ago i saw some screenshot from the alpha with a version of the Apollo H4 Argon-Suspension Laser Pistol without that back & forth pulsing gap/blue shiny force thingy field.
It was like the current version now, but with solid surface on the upper side.. At least the inventory item-icon was like this

I would like to see a mod re-establishing alpha-argon laser pistol as well.. maybe rosodude 🌹 could do something.... : )

yeah, with squirrel scripting, almost anything is posible.

alright, I'll take a quick look, yanking bits of other mods out and recombining them is kinda my forte.

attached, seems to be working, but it was tested for maybe 5 seconds/shots, so use at own risk - if the mod eats your cat or makes your dog explode, well, you know the drill.

needs SS2tool patched SS2 install, works with SCP and vanilla probably, other stuff possibly, load with the manager as any other SS2 mod.

I'm going to give this a try as well. Will get back to you with feedback.

Is this safe to use mid-playthrough? I mean besides the fact that it's not really safe to use at all, of course.

the chances of killing your game/save are pretty much zero.

Okay, just did a VERY QUICK test on an existing save, and yeah, it seems to be working just fine. I haven't tested thoroughly, but even with a pretty highly modified game (using SS2-RSD and a bunch of other mods), no issues so far!

Any chance we can get some of the other SECMOD effects as a standalone mod along with this? Namely the effects from the rechargers, alternate wrench attack anims, the sparks when inserting a power cell, bloody wrench, etc

SECMOD adds a lot of nice graphical stuff, and it's always annoyed me that I couldn't ever have access to those without also having to use secmod and missing out on a lot of compatibility with other stuff.

technically yes, but realistically not worth the effort - most of the cool stuff has already been imported into SCP, and creating a dozen of minimods that could potentially mess up other mods just for the sake of the vanilla game doesn't seem like a good idea.

consider this an exception - it was an interesting thing that kind of got lost when ADaoB has been deprecated, and it was easy to yank it out, so I did it.

Well I was thinking more a single "secmod effects for vanilla/scp" mod, but it's okay I guess. I understand.

I can live without the weird blue particles when recharging and the power receptacle sparks. Not everyone likes the recharge effect, which is fine, Although I'm pretty sure the power receptacle sparks aren't in scp4, and they are pretty subtle so I think most people would approve of them.

they are. as mentioned, most cool effects from Secmod have already been imported into SCP.
