So voodoo47,

One quick question, I downloaded the ss2_v245 one, now is the only zip I need there 'newdark' and 'editor' unpacked directly into a clean SS2 folder?  Because I don't want to have to download the SS2 installer/tool, it seems to dig its claws into my system and access the internet to update it (if I read it right) which I don't want, is that correct (what I said above) or must I use the SS2tool to install it?  Let me know if you can, thanks.

Edit**: upon further reading it looks like I unpack newdark.zip and contrib.zip into the game folder.

At any rate let me know if you can if either or is right in the meantime I will experiment to see if they work and get back to this post to update asap

Ok, fine ZylonBane, your post made me cave, downloading SS2tool.

yeah - just use the tool like everybody else. too much things could go wrong if you try to update manually. choose the perfect mode while patching up.

Okay, it took abit but I think I got it right, and wow, much much better looking, but I am going to have to get used to this editor but its alot more slick!

Well thank you for the tipoff of the 'newdark' lol, I guess I was in the dark about it!

Below is a screenshot so far of what I have been able to navigate:

but one quick question I presume the red square represents the polyhedron plane limit (the one where if you build over about 900 outside of 0,0,0 coordinates your editor crashes) correct?

**Edit, I also love how the loadallobjects script is under file/script rather than in the arbitrary drop down 'custom' select menu like in 2.12v...where has this been all my life lol.

yeah, good stuff in the menus. also, pay attention to the console, if there are some general problems, you'll get a warning (like for example, your earth map trying to load a nonexistent script).

Whooo !!!
A new mission!  :thumb:
Actually I completed it yesterday already and just want to say: Thank you!
Pretty well done and fun toplay.

Got nothing to report as feedback except for what others mentioned already.
But it would be nice to find some chemicals to do some research on my own on the organs I got.
Found only copper, but couldn't use it for anything.
How a bout adding a cabinet with the chemicals one might need?

Hi voodoo47,

Yeah, I noticed that even when you portalize and optimize it gives you notifications, it even tells you if you have persistent player position on!  I am still new to it I was tinkering with it earlier today and I like how you can change it from 16bit to 32 to 32x bit, its very nice, but I am still getting used to how you get all the objects loaded seems like its 'loadallobj, then 'build dialog' (this is the new one), then portalize, and the rest form what I see so far, but yeah I definately I am going to make the switch eventually, I don't think I will go back to old dromED...maybe for continuity sake so I don't forget about it totally but I don't see much of a reason why.  I am really liking what I see with newdark, and I plan to look into revamping this mission to polish it, but more to come on that in the next week or so as I will be gone all week next week.

note that 32bit 2x does not mean "two times better than 32bit", it's a special mode of 32bit (overbrighting, I think - check the docs). use only if you really know you want exactly that.

First off, thank you for saying thank you gnartsch!  I appreciate the fact you enjoyed it!  And as for a chemical storage I just might add one if I revamp this mission which I just might here in the near future, but for that lonely Copper element you may or may not have seen, that is actually for a wormblood implant that you can find within my FM because there are quite a few worm piles laying around so I figured I would add that in there because you never know what play styles the player will want to do (even though cyber modules are kind of limited in my FM, research of 4 is still do-able, but again its up to you, I made it so it would broaden options for play styles even though it seems eccentric maybe).  But I do agree with you on that, and I will look into it and consider it, you aren't the first person that has brought that up.  Anyways thank you for the feedback!

Also, just incase you didn't know there are two ways to end the game!....And there are a few secrets as well...

Yeah I'll look into it more maybe tomorrow and definately will dig into it more week after next when I get back from my trip.

**edit: Yeah I probably won't go past the standard 32bit anyways from what I can see and understand of it so far.

Re: SS2 FM Blind Disposition

also, here's a little trick - load SCP via BMM, make a copy of shockscp.gam and rename it into shock2.gam, and instantly gain all SCP gamesys fixes and enhancements.

665b29fb65f5dZylonBane

Re: SS2 FM Blind Disposition
665b29fb65fac
Or, y'know, just open the archive directly and pull it out.

Also it's not that simple. Some of those enhancement require custom resources.

665b29fb66036voodoo47

Re: SS2 FM Blind Disposition
665b29fb66085
should be good as long as SCP is active in BMM.

665b29fb66124ZylonBane

Re: SS2 FM Blind Disposition
665b29fb66177
That would make it dependent on SCP to run correctly. That would not be a good thing.

665b29fb66224voodoo47

Re: SS2 FM Blind Disposition
665b29fb66273
what I was trying to say here is that as the FM is not using a custom gamesys, one can use SCP gamesys (and resources) to get free fixes and enhancements. I don't see where the problem would be.
